No more transportation-need studies!

[Oct. 20, 2008] Jason Bartlett knows that, when it comes to transportation, “if you build it they will come.”

No more transportation-need studies!

I was dismayed to hear Melanie O’Brien suggest, at last Thursday’s debate, that more studies are required to determine if there is a need for improved mass transit options with associated parking, in this part of Fairfield County. She stated that it would be difficult to get people out of their cars. I could not disagree more. Metro North parking lots are full. The trains are full. We need more mass transit options on the Route 7 corridor.

Jason Bartlett knows this and is working in Hartford to get the ball moving forward. He is doing his homework by looking at the successes in surrounding towns like Ridgefield, where they have a Ridgefield -Katonah Station Shuttle. He is working with the DOT to increase station parking in Bethel.

Sincerely,
