Jim Himes for responsible leadership on Social Security
[Oct. 20, 2008] The story Chris Shays has told us is that individuals, not a company or the federal government, should be in charge of their own financial destiny. His story says that Social Security is broken, that it is a hollow promise, and that private investment accounts are the only way to secure young people's retirement.
His story has amounted to nothing more than one more voice added to the cacophony created by self-interested Wall Street sharpies and market worshipers who scheme to replace Social Security with a retirement plan based on that wonderful lottery known as the stock market.
In contrast, Jim Himes has pledged, "...In Congress, I will fight to make sure that Social Security is always there to support retirees and to prevent it from being put at risk by reckless schemes like privatization...."
On November 4th Vote for Jim Himes and send responsible leadership to Congress.
