Throw out the last right-wing foot soldier in New England

[Sept. 22, 2008] The economy is fundamentally strong! For Congressman Shays to express this silly sentiment as it was announced that an estimated one trillion tax payer dollars (on top of 700 billion wasted in Iraq due to a deception he continues to “sell”) is required to clean up the mess in our financial markets displayed a staggering ignorance of the critical role of financial firms in our economy, particularly here in Fairfield County. These are the views of a career Washington bureaucrat not of a businessman like Jim Himes.
 
It’s time for a change. Sending Jim Himes to Congress will end the undistinguished tenure of the last right wing foot soldier in New England. Enough of the ideological incompetence of Gingrich, Delay, Bush, Cheney, McCain, and Shays that has resulted in an imprudent fiscal policy, ineffective financial regulation, and a failed foreign policy.
