Himes in sync with Redding priorities
[Sept. 15, 2008] Redding is a “green” town. As proof, look to our investment in open land, our award-winning recycling center and our programs to support renewable energy. This November when we choose our next U.S. congressman, remember that Jim Himes is the candidate best in sync with Redding’s earth-friendly priorities.
As a successful financier and passionate environmentalist, Himes has led innovative housing programs that balance economic imperatives with clean energy alternatives. He will bring that experience and passion to Congress. As Himes says, “With smart planning we can go green in a way that will help us build both a thriving economy and middle class.”
And while Chris Shays has waffled on a plan for a massive liquid natural gas terminal in Long Island Sound, Jim Himes has vowed to protect the Sound and vigorously oppose the Broadwater plant. The stakes are too high—we need Himes in Congress!
