Creative responses to stolen yard signs
Apparently this is a problem that extends beyond Redding to towns and districts across the country. But Dems aren't letting vandals stifle their candidate support.
After two Obama signs were taken from his front yard, one teenager in Oregon set up a Webcam with a live feed; now people around the world are guarding Preston Fossbach's signs 24/7 (view his story...). Others who are anticipating theft have filled the blogosphere with suggestions for "treating" signs in advance with hot pepper concoctions and animal feces.
Here are some more civilized examples of creative response to sign theft:
Redding, Connecticut
Austin, Texas
If your signs have been swiped and you want to express your resolve, check out this Virginia Beach blogger, who came up with several variations on replacement Obama signs, beginning with: "You Can Steal This Sign, But You Can’t Steal My Vote" (click here for more ideas).
